Elementary Information Night, Thurs. Feb. 23rd 6pm
All are welcome to join us for our Elementary Information Night to learn about our K-3rd grade program. Teachers will guide you through the curriculum as well as the schedule and other wonderful aspects of this program. We will also be handing out registration packets to all who attend.

10 Year Anniversary
We will be building a mosiac tile wall in honor of our 10 year anniversary! To have your child participate, please see the office. Stay tuned for pictures of this fun project on our website and facebook!
Helpful December Reminders
Elementary Holiday Gift Shop:
Our First Annual Holiday Gift Shop, organized and run by our 1st-3rd graders is an opportunity for older students to put their math skills to use and well as their graceful costumer service as well as giving our younger students an opportunity to shop for their loved ones. To have your child participate, please send them to school on their assigned day with no more that $5.00 in a labeled zip lock bag.

Olive Crest Food Drive:
Dec. 9th – is the last day to donate to our Olive Crest Food Drive. Please bring in a non-perishable item for those children in need.

Friday, November 4th, we will be closed for fall parent-teacher conferences. Child care will be provided during your 20 min. conference. If you are unable to make any of the available times, please contact your lead teacher and another day and time will be made available.
FVM’S Costume Parade
Come and enjoy in our festive costume parade on Monday, Oct 31st @ 9:30am. Parents and families members are welcome to find a spot along the parade route either on the playgrounds or the front of the school! The students will circle the school 3 times and then return to their classrooms to continue their day with our student only activities; the PTU sponsored pumpkin patch and their classroom pot lucks! We look forward to seeing you all there! Please contact the office if you have any questions.

PTU Meeting Minutes
October 11, 2011 @ 7p.m.
Pumpkin Patch Update
• Pumpkins will be purchased by the PTU for our school Pumpkin Patch
o Smith Farms will be delivering pumpkins on October 31st
140 small pumpkins and 60 medium pumpkins
Pumpkins will be delivered at 7:30a.m. at school
Jennifer Urian is leading this event and will contact volunteers who signed-up to help
The costume parade will begin at 9:30 a.m. After the parade is finished, the children will return to the classroom and change out of their costumes. Once the children have changed, they will then visit our pumpkin patch. The office will be making a class schedule for the pumpkin patch prior to the event.
Fall Lollipop Fundraiser
• Belgium chocolate lollipops will be sold the week of October 24th. The lollipops will be $3.00 a piece or $5.00 for two. The money raised will directly benefit the children by having a fun activity or pizza party.
Yearbook Committee Update
• Ms. Ashley and Mei and Steve Brown are co-chairs
• A company has been contacted to produce this year’s yearbook.
o The Brown’s and Ms. Ashley will filter through the pictures from this year’s events and compile the yearbook along with the individual school pictures that were taken.
The deadline to submit pictures from each event will be one week after the event takes place. One person will be assigned from each classroom to take pictures. That person will select four or five of their best pictures and email them to Steve Brown.
Yearbook will be approximately 48 pages. Two pages for each event, sixteen pages for individual class photos.
Events to photograph are the Costume Parade, Pumpkin Patch, Friendship Feast, Winter Holiday Show, Family Dinner Fundraisers, Spirit Days, Valentine’s Day.
• Advertising for after school programs is a possibility in the back in the yearbook.
o The deadline for the completion of the yearbook will be April 2012.
PTU Wish Box
• Theresa Ho will make a box that will be displayed in the front office for suggestions on how to use the PTU money. Feedback is wanted in how to use the funds.
• PTU would also like a wish list from the teachers for what they would like the PTU to purchase for the school.
o Suggestion for PTU meeting:
Karaoke machine
Once a month PTU sponsored Pizza party.
See’s Candies Update
• See’s Candies information will be passed out on October 28th.
• There will be a two week period to get order forms turned in
• Once forms are completed, Helen Platt will organized the forms and turn them in.
• Candy will be delivered to school and volunteers will organize the boxes
o Six volunteers for this event
o It will take approximately four hours to fill the orders.
Family Dinner Night
• Stone Fire Grill November 15th from 5p.m.-9p.m.
